Recording Equipment

Nothing can improve performance more than being able to listen to your own playing. This is one of the ideas that got me started using my recording equipment as a teaching tool.

The software I use is none other than the top-of-the-line Pro Tools, the same software used in most professional recording studios. Pro Tools allows me to create customized practice materials for each student, helping to ensure productive and efficient practice.

I mainly use this equipment to create practice CDs that can help a student with tempo control, ear training, articulation, playing accompaniments, and much more. Being able to play a duet along with a CD can be a big motivator for the less determined practicer as well.

Students are also given the option to rent studio time outside of their lessons for the recording of their own compositions and arrangements. Some audio engineering is included in these sessions. Please review the Studio Policy for more information.
